Technical Knowledge for Digital Substations and Industrial Edge Computing

The Knowledge Center collects the technical background behind our work: explainers on digital substation architecture and IEC 61850, practical guidance on industrial edge computing, and what regulation like the Cyber Resilience Act and EN 50155 actually means for the hardware you deploy. Most of it is written by the engineers who design and support these systems.

On the grid side you'll find material on vPAC and virtualized protection, process bus and station bus design, PRP and HSR redundancy, time synchronization to IEEE 1588, and OT security in substation networks. On the industrial side, edge computing and IIoT architecture, operating system and lifecycle questions, and the requirements that rugged computing hardware has to meet in the field.

We publish when we have something worth saying, not on a schedule. If a topic you're working on isn't covered here, ask us directly.
