Digital Substation Evangelist bei Omicron

Dr. FredSteinhauser is a renowned expert in the field of electrical power engineering, focusing in particular on the digitalization of substations and the
standardization of communication technologies in the energy sector. After
studying electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, where
he received his diploma in 1986 and his doctorate in technical sciences in
1991, he joined OMICRON. Here he specialized in various aspects of testing
protection systems in the energy supply and has been working as a product
manager with a focus on communication technologies for energy suppliers since
2000.

His commitment and expertise have made him a valued member of professional circles. Steinhauser is actively involved in OMICRON's Power Utility Communication business, with a focus on digital substations, and serves as an expert on the IEC 61850 standard. He is a member of Working Group 10 in Technical Committee 57 of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and contributes to the IEC 61850 standard, a key standard for communication in electrical substations. Dr. Steinhauser is considered one of the main authors of this
standard and has thus made a significant contribution to the further development and standardization of communication technologies in the field of electrical power supply.
